ALLYSHIP TRAINING
ALLY LAB is a program of idealect. We offer allyship training through in-person workshops, virtual meetings, and online allyship courses. We take an experimental approach to designing training experiences that boost allyship in professional settings. We are on a mission to invent better allies. Our methods use innovation frameworks to engage participants' empathy, creativity, and problem-solving skills. We encourage and help them develop their own intentional practice of allyship.
Why allyship training?
Traditional DEI programs often implicitly put the burden of change on members of marginalized groups. Allyship training flips that paradigm and explicitly calls on members of privileged groups to assume the responsibility for addressing inequities. A 2021 worldwide survey by Change Catalyst found that when companies offer allyship training, workers in marginalized groups were:
40% more likely to feel safe in the workplace
80% more likely to feel satisfied with workplace culture
100%more likely to feel they belong
DEIB meets Design Thinking
One of the factors that sets Ally Lab's training apart is our foundation in Human-Centered Design. We not only provide information, but we provide practical, creative skills for addressing systemic change. Our sessions are interactive, impactful, and surprisingly fun!
Evidence-based, human-centered, multi-modal
We know that different folks learn in different ways, and not every learning mode works for every organization and circumstance. That's why we offer three paths for allyship education–online courses, virtual workshops, and in-person instruction. All of our learning experiences share the same foundation of evidence-based learning practices and human-centered design methods.
